Diving in Cenote Chikin-ha
Looking for a unique diving experience that is different from the usual reef and ocean dives? Come dive with us at Cenote Chikin-ha, located in the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
Scuba Diving in Chikin-ha
As you descend into Cenote Chikin-ha, you will be surrounded by beautiful rock formations and a unique cave system created by the constant flow of water over thousands of years. Chikin-ha is also home to a variety of fish, including catfish and other freshwater species.
Swimming towards Coral, another cenote that is part of the Ponderosa system is what makes a dive at Chikin-ha so special. The light beams that occur as the sun’s rays penetrate the water create a surreal and magical experience that you will carry with you long after your dive.
The halocline at Chikin-ha is also unique because it has a clear temperature shift. When swimming through the halocline flow, you can see the shimmering, blurry layer that appears to move and shift as you pass through it.
